چکیده
The current study presents an effort to develop a sustainable hydrometallurgical process for the recovery of copper from waste printed circuit boards (PCBs) be applied at local small medium industrial units. aims separate and recover filter dust produced during crushing PCBs using hammer mill in recycling facility. Due high plastic content (approximately 30% w/w), metal fraction was separated gravimetrically, material originated consisted mainly Cu (23.8%), Fe (17.8%), Sn (12.7%), Pb (6.3%), Zn (3.4%), Al (3.3%), Mn (1.6%), Ni (1.5%). Prior recovery, leached with HCl as pretreatment step. During this step, more than 80% iron, zinc, tin were out. resulting solid (37.6%) (10.7%), leading enrichment around 60% powder. leaching conducted two-step H2SO4 agent addition H2O2 oxidizing agent. experimental conditions had low energy requirements (no heating or agitation needed). reached 98%. Despite concentration other metals (Fe, Zn, Ni) pregnant solution too proceed electrowining. Therefore, organic solvent ACORGA M5640 selected extraction solution. two stages pH equilibrium 1.5, loaded phase stripped steps. strip liquor suitable electrowinning.

Hydrometallurgical Recovery of Metals from Large Printed Circuit Board Pieces
The recovery of precious metals from waste printed circuit boards (PCBs) is an effective recycling process. This paper presents a promising hydrometallurgical process to recover precious metals from waste PCBs. To simplify the metal leaching process, large pieces of PCBs were used instead of a pulverized sample. The chemical coating present on the PCBs was removed by sodium hydroxide (NaOH) tre...

In this paper, the leaching behavior of the major metals present in printed circuit boards waste is evaluated, aiming at its recycling by hydrometallurgy. Several leachants were compared (sulfuric, hydrochloric and nitric acids, at 2 M H concentration), at temperatures of 25oC and 90oC and 4 hours of reaction time. Sulfuric acid leaching was not very promising concerning metals dissolution bein...

Waste printed circuit boards (WPCB) have an inherent value because of the precious metal content. For an effective recycling of WPCB, it is essential to recover the precious metals. This paper reports a promising method to recover the precious metals. Aqua regia was used as a leachant and the ratio between metals and leachant was fixed at 1/20 (g/ml). Silver is relatively stable so the amount o...

Printed circuit boards (PCBs) can be found in any piece of electrical or electronic equipment: nearly all electronic items, including calculators and remote control units, contain large circuit boards; an increasing number of white goods, as washing machines contains circuit boards for example in electronic timers. PCBs contain metals, polymers, ceramics and are manufactured by sophisticated te...

Printed Circuit Board (PCB) is an essential component of almost all electrical and electron ic equipments. The rapid growth of the use of such equipments has contributed enormously to the generation of large quantity of waste PCBs. The WPCBs not only contain valuable metals but also a large variety of hazardous materials. Conventional treatments of such WPCBs have their own limitations. By pyro...
